Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Aarsh Innovations LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and safeguards information through the JollyTango mobile application and website (“Service”). We are committed to transparency and data minimization.

1. Overview

JollyTango is a travel storytelling app providing real-time narrations and contextual insights for road trips, flights, and cruises. We design our systems with privacy in mind and strive to minimize personally identifiable data.

2. Information We Collect

• Identifiers: anonymous or device identifiers to distinguish sessions and support app features.
• Location Data: used to deliver narrations and nearby contextual content when features require it (including background functionality you enable).
• Device & Technical Data: operating system, app version, performance and diagnostic signals.
• Usage Analytics: aggregated or pseudonymized interaction metrics.
• Transaction Data: purchase history and pass activations from authorized platforms; we do not process payment card numbers.

A guest account does not require your name or email address, but it has a persistent user ID. App interactions, diagnostics and purchase records can be associated with this ID. Network requests also disclose an IP address and technical metadata. Journey requests can include coordinates, place or vehicle details, language and selected interests; generated narration is sent for speech synthesis. These requests are not recordings from your microphone.

3. How We Use Information

We process information to: provide and personalize app functionality and Premium Pass features; analyze performance and improve reliability; comply with legal obligations; communicate important updates; and prevent misuse or fraud, consistent with applicable law. We do not sell personal data or use collected information for behavioral advertising.

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

• Consent: for optional location access, usage analytics, and crash/performance reports where these features request consent.
• Contract: to fulfill purchases and provide subscribed services.
• Legal Obligation: to maintain required business or tax records.
• Legitimate Interest: to secure the service, prevent fraud, respond to support requests and maintain necessary operational records, balanced with user privacy.

Where your app provides Privacy choices in Account, usage analytics and crash/performance reports are separate, optional choices. Both are off until you enable them. You can turn either off there at any time. Your journeys, purchases and daily free allowance work either way. Accepting the Terms of Service does not enable these optional choices. Older app versions may collect analytics and diagnostics automatically.

Withdrawal stops future optional collection on that installation; it does not automatically erase records already sent. See the deletion instructions below for a separate deletion request. Necessary network requests, guest authentication and purchase validation still occur when you use those features.

5. Service Providers and Data Processing

Google Firebase and Google Cloud support guest authentication, database storage, analytics, diagnostics, backend processing and speech synthesis. Google Maps and Places support maps and nearby places. RevenueCat, Apple and Google support purchase validation and pass access.

Perplexity and OpenAI process journey context to generate narration. FlightRadar24, FlightAware and VesselFinder supply flight and ship information for the relevant features. Availability checks contact external network services, which receive ordinary request metadata such as IP addresses.

Our app analytics configuration permits Google to use aggregated or deidentified metrics for modeling and business insights, and to access analytics data for technical support and account recommendations. Providers also process data under their applicable service terms and privacy practices. We do not promise that every provider processes all data without retention.

6. Data Retention

Guest account and pass records remain until deletion is processed, subject to records that must be retained for security or legal obligations. Apple and Google maintain their own purchase records. Deleting a JollyTango account does not refund a purchase or cancel a store subscription.

Our app Analytics settings retain event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. New activity resets the user-data retention period. These controls do not set the retention period for standard aggregated reports. Our default Google Cloud logs are configured for 30 days; required audit logs are configured for 400 days.

AI services, diagnostics and other providers have their own retention rules, which can include security, abuse-prevention and legal records. We do not promise immediate deletion of every provider log or backup. Cached narration and preferences on your device remain subject to the app and device storage controls. Contact us for a deletion request and information about any retained records.

7. Children

The Service is intended for users aged 13+ (16+ in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from individuals below the minimum digital consent age.

8. Your Rights

• Access, correct, or delete information we hold about you.
• Withdraw consent where applicable.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Request a copy of your information in portable form (subject to technical feasibility).

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our partners operate. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards for transfers under EU and UK law.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

11. Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. While no system is completely secure, we continually monitor and improve our defenses.

12. Region-Specific Notices

California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or share personal information as defined under California law. You may request disclosure or deletion by emailing contact@jollytango.com. Other regions: local data protection laws may grant additional rights; we comply with applicable regulations.

13. Updates to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. For material updates, we will notify users in the app or via our website. The “Last Updated” date indicates the effective version.
